From the 1996 sessions · Reconstructed 2026 · Doomed To Live, Side B

Well I just don't think I can make it till I die
Without screwing around and getting real high
I don't want to be a hero
I just want to be a superman and fly

Said I don't want to be an outlaw till I'm dead
I don't want to live my whole life off my head
I don't want a job in a junkyard
I'll figure out to be a superman instead

And I'll race out of the phone booth
With a black bow tie and a smile
And I'll race man through the city
For a hundred thousand miles
Spreading the love child

Work
Original

A tiny rush of work, intoxication and comic-book escape. The narrator rejects the burden of being a hero while keeping the fantasy of power and flight.

04 / The artwork

Visualising the song.

A vintage, gritty collage features the word SUPERMAN, handwritten poetic lyrics about wanting to be a hero and fly, an old telephone booth, urban city scenes, and a glass of whiskey on the rocks.
