Story (Short Bio)

Hovercraft formed in Grimsby in 1995 around songwriter Piers “Charlie Pepper” Wildman. Their demo “Mr Tooting Brown” hit No. 1 on the local chart, but in 1996 Charlie disappeared without explanation and the band fell apart.

Nearly thirty years later, surviving members Golly God and Ron Nasty began digitising old rehearsal and four-track tapes. Using AI to reconstruct damaged audio and incomplete lyrics, they rebuilt the songs they once played with Charlie, not as a nostalgia act but as a form of sound archaeology.

The result is a trilogy of “AI reconstruction” albums — Shaken Not Stirred, On The Rocks and forthcoming Blown Away — praised internationally in the UK, US, Brazil, Ghana, India and Mexico for their emotional depth and innovative production.

Every release is both a celebration of the songs and an ongoing signal sent out into the world for their missing friend.
